Saudi Arabia has unveiled a sweeping master plan and new identity for three key airports—King Fahd International Airport (KFIA) in Dammam, Al Ahsa International Airport, and Qaisumah International Airport—as part of its Vision 2030 strategy.
Announced by Eastern Province Governor Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, the plan is focused on transforming KFIA into a major regional hub. Its passenger capacity is set to grow to over 19.3 million annually by 2030, with air cargo capacity expected to surpass 600,000 tonnes per year—more than 10 times the current volume.
As part of the upgrade, Prince Saud also inaugurated new electronic gates to streamline passenger movement and launched an integrated development package worth SAR1.6 billion ($426 million). The package includes 77 projects designed to enhance infrastructure and elevate the overall passenger experience.
